Ailsa Craigen is the illustrator behind Pen to Papier. She is currently residing and working in Toronto, Canada.

Ottawa-born, she attended Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada for her Bachelor of Architectural Science (Co-op) and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands for her Master of Science in Architecture. She has worked in architectural firms in Toronto, ON and Kingston, ON. She has a lovely cat named Bean who is sometimes featured in her sketches.

Ailsa embarked on the Queen Street Project in 2020 working from 700 Queen Street East, westward, to 700 Queen Street West (and beyond?).
