On a second trip to the UK for my master's thesis, this time with the left-side driving expertise of my dad, I visited Battle Abbey. The historical site is a partially ruined Benedictine Abbey built on the site of the Battle of Hastings. The Battle of Hastings was fought in 1066 between the Norman-French Army and the English Army, which began the Norman conquest of England. I am always in awe of vaulted ceilings built over a thousand years ago (okay, in 1067 to be exact).
