In my first year at Delft University of Technology, I took a studio whose project was based in Seoul, South Korea. During one of our site visits in the neighbourhood of Cheongpa-Dong, we observed how many residents spread their living space into the street to occupy and beautify their surroundings, in an otherwise concrete and brick-dominant area. Potted plants were layered in front of each other, on top of stools, benches, etc. and brought some well-needed green to the neighbourhood.
